A DROP OF WATER…
Amb. Diana Mehmeti
A drop of water on the glass, and the world dissolved in mist;
The night hung on a branch that sprouted – like a bird struck by rain…
You were no longer there – oh God!
Yet, your breath still remains in the room…
I painted a name by hand on the dampness, I saw it dive into the slippery trace of the remaining drops – with the very blood of silence…
The windows burned with the fever of dew, the glass burned by your absence;
Outside, they carried a heavy burden – the corpses of our steps like feathers…
A layer of water on the glass, so little is needed – just a trace.
Because;
Great loves do not disappear with longing… they remain suspended – between breath and glass, like light…
“Like a scream that finds no mouth to be born.”
